With only days to go McIntyres Salons are proud to announce that Michael Howie, one of our most promising young stylists, is through to the finals of the prestigious Wella Trend Vision 2009 to be hosted on Monday night at Camden’s coolest venue The Roundhouse in London

Since 1998 Wella Trend Vision has been showcasing the UK’s best stylists by pitching them a choice of four varying themes to draw inspiration from. 2009 has been no different, with the contemporary yet complex themes of Utopia, De-Lush, Intersexion and Virtual Life.

Its great to have students back in the city attending Dundee University,Abertay ,Duncan of Jordanstone and the various colleges, the student community bring a special vibrancy and if your new to our ‘City of many Discoveries’ then a particular special welcome, we do hope you enjoy your time in Dundee and have a fantastic term ahead

McIntyres Hairdressing group in Dundee are looking to attract additional stylists for their expanded and award winning Union Street salon. After extensive refurbishment and expansion the salon now has 26 styling positions and 7 backwash areas with dedicated colour bar. The increase in capacity has opened up opportunities for an additional hair stylist/senior stylist preferably with their own clientele and the necessary skills and experience to work in a creative,challenging but rewarding hairdressing environment

Salon shampoo’s, conditioners and professional hair products are much more concentrated and can only be purchased from hair salons and can last more than 6 times longer than brands from chemists or supermarkets. Salon products are dedicated to the protection and nourishment of the hair and effectively reduce colour fade, can add volume and lock in shine so much better than any consumer brand.

Clash Magazine invited Dundee salon hairdressing group McIntyres to art direct and style the hair for its fashion shoot in London. Three times British Hair Award finalist and twice Scottish hairdresser of the year Kay McIntyre kept the hairstyles based on the music theme ‘Northern Soul’ loose and cool. Clash Magazine were voted ‘Magazine of the year’ at the PPA awards and its distributed worldwide.
Kay said ‘ The shoot was great fun and a welcome break from the hair and beauty looks we normally create, it’s a great magazine , popular with salon clients and stylists’
