Sam McKnight Joins ghd As Global Creative Director

Top stylist Sam McKnight has joined ghd as their new Global Creative Director with a Rankin shot campaign for their Eclipse straighteners marking his debut.

Using the ‘gamechanging’ straighteners, McKnight created five very different hairstyles to showcase the ghd Eclipse’s power and versatility. Featuring the model Milou, and captured by top photographer Rankin, the campaign proves “that greatness comes to those who create.”

Christian Bale Goes Bald!

Batman actor Christian Bale debuted an extreme style change as he arrived at Los Angeles’ airport with a shaved head and beard.

Usually a star’s new look might be a new colour or a change of hairstyle but ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ actor isn’t one for messing about, opting to shave his head bald and team it with a full beard for a very dramatic change.

He had flown in from New York where he’s filming a new movie, ‘American Hustle’, alongside Amy Adams, Robert De Niro, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper.

Wella TrendVision 2013 Scottish Winners Announced

Following Friday’s Scottish heat of Wella TrendVision Award 2013 news item, today we can announce the winners.

Held at Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange, with our own Kay McIntyre acting as judge, the theme this year was to interpret ‘The Sound Of Colour’ in both the ‘Colour’ an ‘Young Talent’ categories.

McIntyres are supporting ‘Chime for Change’ a movement started to help empower girls and women through education,health and Justice.Founded by Gucci this is a global campaign crusade and movement that is now endorsed by many powerful iconic female celebrities. A concert with a galaxy of female superstars complete a breathtaking line up is to be held in Twickenham ,London on the 1st June with Beyonce,Ellie Goulding,Florence + The Machine,Jennifer Lopes,Rita Orla,Iggy Azalea and many others to be announced.

‘The Rachel’ Most Requested Hairstyle

‘The Rachel’, the hairstyle worn by Jennifer Aniston in the TV show ‘Friends’, remains the most requested hairstyle ahead even of Kate Middleton’s.

Talking to the Daily Mail, hairdresser Richard Ward, who counts Kate Middleton as a client, says that the hairstyle is still the most requested by clients even twenty years after it debuted on the U.S. television show.

While the royal mum-to-be, Kate Middleton, has become a style icon and role model to many following her wedding to Prince William, her flowing hair remains in the shadow of Aniston’s era defining look.
