McIntyres Salons’ Kay McIntyre was in action as Nioxin’s Education Ambassador on Monday night in Edinburgh for Nioxin’s Scottish conference.

Held at the city’s Point Hotel it was an opportunity for Nioxin specialists from Scotland and beyond, as far a field as Newcastle and Birmingham, to find out more about the product range and see demonstrations on how to maximise Nioxin’s effects and how to use it to the best advantage of clients who would benefit from it through sympathetic cutting and colourings techniques.

McIntyres Salons Join Sebastian’s 40th Birthday Celebrations

A team from McIntyres Salons will be at tonight’s 40th Birthday Party for the Sebastian Professional brand.

Taking place at London’s Bloomsbury Ballroom, we are looking forward to seeing our own Michael Howie, part of Sebastian’s Cult Team, present models alongside the best in the industry as well as an appearance by the legendary Robert Lobetta, one-time Sebastian creative director and all-round hair maverick.

McIntyres Salons own Kay McIntyre recently appeared at Nioxin’s Thinning Expert Conference in Manchester in her role as UK education ambassador for the brand.

Demonstrating cuts and colour suited to thinning hair, Kay was in good company alongside Real Radio DJ Jo Lloyd, who had suffered with thinning hair, the Institute of Trichologists’ Marilyn Sherlock, partners with Nioxin of Thinning Hair Awareness Week, and Dr Steve Shiel, the scientific director of P&G Beauty.

Kerastase have launched their new Couture Styling range with supermodel Kate Moss heading up the campaign.

Wella And UNICEF Launch European ‘Making Waves’ Initiative

Wella and UNICEF have launched the first European initiative of their Making Waves programme, which aims to empower young people with skills for the future and raise 10,000 Euros in the process.

The programme began in Brazil in 2012, where 38% of young people live in poverty, and this year expands to Romania for its first European initiative with the aim to “help vulnerable young people by giving them the hairdressing training, mentoring and life skills they need to have a more beautiful perspective on life.”

Kay McIntyre Featured In The Scotman’s Interiors

Kay McIntyre was featured in The Scotsman’s Interior section at the weekend taking about the home she shares with husband, Clash magazine publisher John O’Rourke, and their two children.

The three times Scottish Hairdresser of the Year and British Hairdressing Award Hall of Fame member spoke to the newspaper about their house, its history and the work they carried out to take it from being “very Seventies in style with lots of small dark rooms and fussy dark interiors” to a slick futuristic space.
