Sassoon has created a pop-up salon at the V&A as part of the Records & Rebels exhibition that showcases the times of the late sixties where music and fashion produced a cultural revolution. Apart from this being an amazing experience to go and see, what’s really fantastic is that a hairdressing brand back then has been rightly credited retrospectively as being such an influencer of the times and movement but that significance this exhibition demonstrates how relevant the hair industry is equally as justified as being as big an influencer as it is today.
American cosmetics beauty brand Coty Inc has aquired the UK ghd electrical hair tools and product business for an estimated £400m+. Having recently purchased the P&G hair and cosmetics portfolio earlier this month including the Wella prestige professionals division in a record $12.5 billion pound acquisition, Coty further strengthens its presence in the hair care salon sector with ghd, signalling its intent and global ambition.
Wella launches their new World Studio in London, their state of the art academy is now at No1 The Strand. Wella closed the doors on its former iconic London Studio in Mortimer Street after 25 years. The new facility is closer to Covent Garden with all the boutiques and shops , I’m sure this will be a much more stylist friendly location for their flagship Academy.
