Dundee V&A art & design museum announced

A new £47m art & design centre has been announced for Dundee,Scotland and is probably the best regeneration news that could spark an amazing new chapter in the history of the cultural and creative ambitions of Scotland’s most innovative City.
The “Dundee V&A” (Victoria & Albert) will be built as part of the on going city’s ambitious £280m waterfront redevelopment. Dundee City Council have also launched a worldwide architectural competition to design the new centre which will be built out onto the River Tay close to the City’s most famous landmark Discovery Point
The New building will be adjacent to McIntyres Hairdressing and the Malmaison Hotel near Discovery point and the city’s new upgraded train station near the Union Street salon,McIntyres has already won several architectural awards including a significant RIAS Regeneration Award and British Civic Trust award at the beginning of the regeneration plans and in the heart of this area and clients shall hopefully enjoy views of the new building and is delighted and congratulate everyone involved in securing such a high profile addition to Dundee,Tayside and Scotland.
This is truly a World Class opportunity to show how far Dundee has come and testament to the work of many organisations including Dundee University,Abertay University,Scottish Enterprise,Dundee City Council and many commercial organisations who excel within the creative sector. Culture Minister Fiona Hyslop hoped it would create a “thriving centre” for the creative industries .The building is due to be completed by 2014
