McIntyres Young Stylist Reaches Wella Finals

With only days to go McIntyres Salons are proud to announce that Michael Howie, one of our most promising young stylists, is through to the finals of the prestigious Wella Trend Vision 2009 to be hosted on Monday night at Camden’s coolest venue The Roundhouse in London

Since 1998 Wella Trend Vision has been showcasing the UK’s best stylists by pitching them a choice of four varying themes to draw inspiration from. 2009 has been no different, with the contemporary yet complex themes of Utopia, De-Lush, Intersexion and Virtual Life.

Michael’s chosen category, Virtual Life, encourages the stylist to create bold statements through their creativity. The ideals of which are much modelled around futurism, virtual reality and the interactive generation. The use of colours and texture is expected to reflect the influence of new technology, to portray a message that can be both intense and muted in equal measure.

After passing the initial photographic application round, Michael excelled at the Trend Vision regional finals (model pictured) in Glasgow, and is now on course to showcase his talents among the UK’s final 12 stylists in London, this September.

Kay McIntyre the salons creative director adds ‘its a wonderful achievement for him to get through to the finals and he has did the salon and Scottish Hairdressing proud, we are all rooting for him and we’ll all be there on the night to cheer him on
