Watch Finalist Kay McIntyre live at The British Hairdressing Awards 2020 as they host a virtual awards ceremony for the first time in it’s 36 year history, Kay McIntyre, of mcIntyres salons, Dundee, Scotland is one of six finalists in the ‘Scottish Hairdresser of the Year 2020’ category.

Feel all the excitement and drama on Monday night at 8pm with Hairdresser’s Journal international’ as they stream live on Facebook . “With the British Hairdressing Awards being THE hairdressing event of the year, we feel strongly that it should go ahead and we are confident we can still celebrate together but in the 2020 way,” explains HJ’s executive director Jayne Lewis-Orr. 

Kay has already won 4 British Hairdressing Awards, the ‘Scottish Hairdresser of The Year’ 3 times and one when inducted into the British Hairdressing Awards ‘Hall of Fame’. Kay says “This event is definitely the most prestigious events I’ve attended, with the current restrictions the team at Hairdressers Journal International have pulled out all the stops, together with sponsors Schwarzkopf Professional, and have did an amazing job in keeping this event alive and celebrating the incredible creativity in British Hairdressing.”

“This week, I received a beautiful box of goodies all branded #BHA20, with truffle chocolates from Harrods, champagne, balloons, bunting etc to get into the spirit and we get to invite 10 people virtually to an ‘e-table’ on Zoom as well as having another zoom room for the other finalists.”

Each and every year since its inception, the British Hairdressing Awards event has been held in the glorious surroundings of the Great Room at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London attracting 2,000 guests including 100 finalists in 17 categories culminating in the most coveted of all titles, British Hairdresser of the Year.
